Why does G-Force crash or get extremely low frame rates? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Currently, I'm using Windows Media Player 11 and SoundSpectrum's G-Force visualizer. Whenever it loads, it causes Windows Media Player to crash and display the following error:

The V-Bar also crashes when it loads, too. I'm not in Safe Mode.

I can't get G-Force to work anymore, because its config file is corrupt.

    Here are the error details:

It may be due to a runtime error, or G-Force may no longer be compatible with Windows Vista.

I can't workaround the problem, because it always crashes.

    ...even Windows Media Center.

This is caused by a buffer overrun, which messed up G-Force Gold. I can't upgrade to G-Force Platinum, because it costs too much. I think restarting the computer may not help. I even can't reinstall G-Force, because I have WaveShapes, ColorMaps, and FlowFields I created. What is causing the problem?

Update: The only visualizers I can choose are Alchemy, Bars and Waves, Battery, BlazingColors, ColorCubes, Windows Media Player 10/Energy Bliss, Windows Media 9 Series/Rhythm and Waves, PulsingColors, or Trilogy I to III. But I can't choose G-Force because it now has a bug in it.

Update 2: Restarting the computer did not help. G-Force.dll is fully corrupt, and needs to be reinstalled. Does anyone have the same issue?
