    I'm getting this error message when I play Far Cry AMD64 1.32 build 1385 after it crashes. One forum suggested that I install an earlier version of DirectX. Will this mess up my current install of DirectX. I assume this is version 10 or 11 but how do I check to find out?

    Hello Wardell C.

    You can check the DirectX status on your PC by running the dxdiag command from the Windows Start menu; since you're running Windows 7, you should find that your system has DirectX 11 installed.
    You cannot "downgrade" the DirectX version installed along with your system, but you can go to the Microsoft Download Center and download an older DirectX version for installing on your system.
