  • Hi imughal,

There is no OOB method to set default format in Rich Text box in the InfoPath form.

To achieve this requirement, we may need some codes. Rich Text box stores formatted data as XHTML in the form template's underlying data source. Cresting an external XML file to change the format.

Here is a demo about using external xml file for Rich Text box in the InfoPath form:

  • Hi imughal,

Per my testing result, we can use the InfoPath form with external Xml file as data source in SharePoint Online.

  • Hi imughal,

It is HTML code. You could use the script below.

    <p xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" style="text-indent: 50px;">text</p>

Read the following article for CSS text-indent property

    http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_text_text-indent.asp
