Don't have Azure AD but still receive "You can't sign up here with a work or school email address" RRS feed

    We as a company don't use Azure AD. When someone tries to sign up for Skype using their work email address we get the error "You can't sign up here with a work or school email address. Use a personal email, such as Gmail or Yahoo!"

    I read in this blog post (https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2016/09/15/cleaning-up-the-azure-ad-and-microsoft-account-overlap/) that "Starting today, we’re blocking the ability to create a new personal Microsoft account using a work/school email address, when the email domain is configured in Azure AD." I'm the sys admin and I can confirm that we are NOT using Azure AD. How can I find out why our work accounts are being prevented from signing up for Skype?

    Hi Gregory1984,

    Did you use public skype or skype for business\Lync ?

    If you use skype for business\Lync, it is required domain account to sign in skype for business\Lync.

    If you use public skype, please post this issue in Skype forum, there are more experts will help you resolve this issue, thanks for your understanding and support.
