Windows 7 Logon Screen settings RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a KVM and the logon screen for windows 7 is junk. The KVM can handle 85 Hz and a higher resolution than my 75Hz monitor. If I hook the monitor straight to the PC, there is not an issue.  I did not have this issue with XP.  Once logged in, I can set the refresh rate and screen size to something my monitor can handle.... until the next reboot then it is messed up.

    problem:

Where / How do I set the display settings for the Logon Screen?

    Alternative:

Can I turn off the monitor autodetect that is being used during Logon?

    Other Alternative:

Since XP works fine, is there a way to switch to the XP GUI and avoid this issue?

  • Hi,

How about using following method to change the welcome screen Pixels?

    1. Click Start -> type regedit in the search box -> select regedit.exe

    2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG\Software\Fonts, right click Fonts, export and save on desktop as a backup.

    3. In the right pane, the default date of value LogPixels is 60 (100%), you can change it larger or smaller for a test .
