  • Question

  • Hi,

reading this article Forcing NUMA Node affinity, it seems to using the NUMA features to have good query performancies. I'd like to know if it is possible to forcing the Numa affinity for a no Numa hardware.

  • Hi Pscorca,

According to your description, you want to force the NUMA affinity for a no NUMA hardware, right? As you can see on the screenshot in that blog, on a system with no NUMA hardware you will notice NUMA nodes is greyed out. So as per my understanding, we cannot force the NUMA affinity for a no NUMA hardware.

  • If you want to limit Tabular to only use half the cores on a non-NUMA server, you can use the same techniques in that article. But expect worse performance than before. Why are you considering this? What is the need?
