SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 Client Migration displays ALL packages in Software Center

Question
-
I am doing a client migration from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4.
For a lot of clients this works perfectly and packages are migrated and AVAILABLE packages are displayed in Software Center as installed packages with the option to be reinstalled.
But i also noticed some clients which shows all packages as available and not yet installed. Why ?
Any ideas ?
I checked the registry and the infmation is stored there that packages are successfully installed....so why not displayed in Software Center that way ?

Hi,
You try to initiate this action from a Configuration Manager client computer by selecting the action Application Deployment Evaluation Cycle from the Actions tab of Configuration Manager in Control Panel.

This issue is related to packages, not applications !Wednesday, June 11, 2014 4:18 PM

Hi,
Just want you to use this action to re-evaluate all deployments for software.

The point Joyce is making is that running the action above will evaluate the detections of the applications. You can view the appdiscovery.log to see if the application is being discovered correctly on the system. By knowing if it is discovering or not you can troubleshoot why. Maybe you are using the MSI Product ID and WMI is messed on the system and it is unable to verify the existence of the application, or the installation path is different on that system for some reason.

The eval cycle only evaluates *applications*, not *packages*.
