Don't Have "Run As Administrator" option inside Admin user account RRS feed

  • Question

  • As an example, I can't find a way to run cmd prompt as a administrator in order to check if my laptop is capable to host network. But I can install softwares, change network connections settings, create a VPN.   How do I fix this?  And when I use the cmd prompt to see if there's a hidden password for my admin account that I always work in, it says I need a password and that I never created a password.....

  • Hello,

Hold the SHIFT key and select Run as "Administrator"

If the above option is not showing,

Run as DIFFERENT USER and enter your Administrator Credentials.

    Hope this helps.

  • When I do this I only see in bold text "run as". After clicking that the window of users to pick from pops up, but it  doesn't have the word administrator anywhere in the window. I see the Administrator user account with  my name that I am currently logged into and an option to enter password and username of another user.

Also, I never made a password for user account.
