Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: Connect failed RRS feed

  • HI,

    I am unable to telnet my exchange server 2016 with mbx and CAS roles. 

    2nd thing is i have disabled Hubtransport role but still unable to run service Microsoft Exchange Frontend Transport service. 

    please guide.

  • it was mentioned in different articles if we face subjected issue then HT service should be replace with Microsoft Exchange Frontend Transport service. or HT may be disabled..

    Any special error when telnet 25 port?

    For your service error, please run below command in EMS and list the results:
    Get-ReceiveConnector -Server <Problematic Server> | FL Name,RemoteIp*,Bindings,Permission*,Auth*,Transport*

    Figure as below:

    Note: it's a lab environment, not recommend install Exchange on a DC.

    Only the FrontendTransport server-type receive connector should have the binding set to port 25, thus if there's a HubTransport connector with 25 port, it may cause this issue.

    We can switch this connector to FrontendTransport:
    Set-ReceiveConnector <Problem connector> –TransportRole FrontendTransport

  • Port 25 is binded with FrontedTransport but still no luck to start "Microsoft Exchange Frontend Transport" any idea please
