IE11 on Windows 10 crashing on startup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I've already ran without add-ons, turned on/off as window feature, rolled back everything that has been installed since the issue has occurred (including updates) reset to default settings, etc.

I'm getting the below in my debug, and I'm seeing Kernel32.dll as the issue, but not sure on next steps or if thats the actual issue. Any help is appreciated.

  • Looks like it was an issue with an interaction between two anti-virus programs. Thank you for your help.

  • Hi,

It seems that it crash on system files. Please run commands below to scan system files and see if it can work fine:

    Rum cmd as admin:

    SFC /SCANNOW

If this issue still persists, let's reinstall IE to check the results:

  • Sorry my first try got cut off. Here is my solution. Worked on all 5 machines where IE 11 on Windows 10 crashed on startup after update this week (February 2018). (1) Type in "Control Panel" in search bar next to start menu logo. (2) in Control Panel find and click on "Internet Options" (3) Click on "advanced" (4) Click on "Reset" under "Reset Internet Explorer settings. Close all windows applications if that message appears. I tried everything else, including turning off and then on IE 11. This is the only solution that worked for me.
