App-V Applications disappear RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I have an issue with some App-V applications. All of a sudden we have had reports of around 10% of our desktops being unable to run any App-v apps. On investigation the app-v client service wont start with an error 575, after a bit of digging we have found that some folders in:

    c:\programdata\app-v\

    are empty, the folder containing the GUID is there, it has no content though. there is also a corresponding registry key still in place. If we delete the folder and reg key, the app-v service starts. checking the event logs, the only common denominator is last months patches from patch Tuesday installing.

    I cant figure out what's uninstalling the apps (the same 2 apps for all the devices). Any clues or pointers would be great.

    using App-v 5 Sp2 CU5 on Windows 8.1.

    I would recommend to upgrade to the latest version (App-V 5.0 SP3 HF1), and if that doesn't resolve the issue I would open a ticket with Microsoft
