Cannot add WSUS Role on Windows Server 2016 RRS feed

    Hello,

    I'm Trying install WSUS Role on a fresh Windows Server 2016 and it failed with error "the operation cannot be completed because the server that you specified requires a restart"

    On the Event Viewer we can see the error below:

    The description for Event ID 7024 from source Service Control Manager cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

    If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

    The following information was included with the event:

    Windows Internal Database
    %%3417

    The locale specific resource for the desired message is not present

    Please help me.

    Hello,

    Would you please restart the server and then re-install the role?

    What kind of database did you choose? WID? Please expand path C:\windows\WID\Data and check whether susdb.mdf is created. 

    To reinstall WSUS, you may first remove WID. The WID database can be removed by uninstalling the Windows Internal Database feature.

    You will also need to manually delete the file C:\windows\WID\Data\susdb.mdf before re-installing everything again.

    Please also look to see if .NET 4.7 is installed. If so, please remove it, reboot, and try again. .NET 4.7 has a conflict with the WSUS Installer and it won't allow you to complete the installation. Once WSUS is installed, you can go ahead and install .NET 4.7 if you wish and WSUS will still work.
