Windows 7 Update error: 800b0100 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running Windows 7 Professional.

The computer keeps trying to do updates (14 of them) but it keeps failing and showing Error 800B0100.  I followed the instructions for downloading Systems Update Readiness Tool and it prompted the installation of Hotfix KB947821--but the update manager still cannot install the 14 updates (it can download them) and returns the same error.

I need any help that I can get.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Turn off Windows Firewall, it is the most common solution to that problem:

Once turned off try to install the updates.

  • First, please refer to this article and see if the issue can be resolved: Windows Update Error 800B0100

If the issue persists, please try the following suggestions to check the result:

Disable Windows Firewall and other security software and then run Windows Update.

If the issue persists, access Clean Boot to check the issue. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue.

Also, run Windows Update Troubleshooter by going to Start -> Control Panel -> Troubleshooting -> Fix problems with Windows Update.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Linda
