Datetime with timestamp in parameters

    Question

  •

    Hi friends,

    I want a parameter with datetime along timestamp. For example end user sholud select datetime and timestamp i.e. 11/02/2007 11:10. Is datetime type is sufficient. or is any other way to solve this problem.

  • The datetime datatype will default to having a calendar control on the front end, making it impossible to enter a time.

    So you could have another datatype (string/int) which you use for the time part.

    You can then concatenate the result and use CDate to convert back to a datetime.

    or

    Just have a string and allow the user to enter the whole thing. Use Cdate to convert it back.
    You can always set the default to
    =today()

    where it will at least give the format you want as a default, thus giving the user a clue as to the format required
