publishing a large briefing book to Proclarity Analytics server RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are getting an error when publishing a large briefing book to the Proclarity analytics server. the error states "Unable to publish book: Client: Invalid Request."

The application event log has the following error: "Soap error: XML Parser failed at linenumber5, lineposition 262144, reason is: Unspecified error".

I'm aware of this as an issue per the below link, however I think I've applied the sugeested service packs, etc and the problem continues to occur:

    PAS: 6.3 sp3 version 6.3.129.200

Some research shows an almost identical error was solved by updating the same MSXML4.DLL version you have.  I suggest updating the file as instructed here at this site - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924191.  It appears that you’ll likely want to update to MSXML 4.0 SP2 first (the bottom link), then apply the security fix (top link).  After the update, you should see the .dll file go from version MSXML4.DLL:  4.10.9404.0, to 4.20.9848 or later in the ProClarity Diagnostic Tool results.  I’m still going to try to repro this, too.

    ·       Windows Update and Microsoft Update do not offer security update 925672 if you have MSXML 4.0 or MSXML 4.0 SP1 installed. To update MSXML 4.0 or MSXML 4.0 SP1, use one of the following methods:

o   Method 1: Download and install security update 925672 from the Microsoft Download Center. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

o   Method 2: Download and install MSXML 4.0 SP2, and then install security update 925672 from Windows Update or from Microsoft Update. To download MSXML 4.0 SP2, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
