The server 2008 EE SP1 R2 X64 is only used as a print server and as 8 gig if ram.  The client is a windows7 pro and the server  is on an other location.  I created a shared test driver pcl6 on the server with a std tcpip port set to lpr on the printer adress.  if I print a job from the server it takes about 5 sec. to transfert a 4 pages pdf to the printer and then it prints.  when I print the same job from the client, it can take up to 1 minute before the job appear on the driver's queue on the server. then the job is sent to the printer as usual. On the driver shared with all the users, they experience longer delays as more print jobs are submitted simultanously.

any ideas what can cause this delay.
