SCSM Web Content Server Install - Revert from SSL RRS feed

  • Question

  • During the SCSM web content server installation I selected the option to use SSL.  Now that the installation is complete, is there anyway to revert an not us SSL?

On a related note, if we're only using this product internally, is SSL really needed?  In other words, is the SSL strongly recommended because a self service portal is typically internet facing or is there some other reason behind this recommendation?

    Thank you!

  • Thanks Marcel.  I was in the process of setting up a lab for educational purposes and didn't want to run into unnecessary hindrances along the way.  I was able to uninstall the web contact server and re-install without SSL.

That said, I agree that SSL should be used in Prod and intend to do so.

  • Hey

Why revert it when you already have it up and running? It definitely makes sense (internally and/or externally) because it's possible that you collect sensitive data when consumers create new requests. Without SSL only the Authentication is encrypted (when not using Basic Auth).
