DNS with VPN RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good morning,  I am hopeful I get this across without sounding ignorant.  We are using server 2012 at the home office with a sonicwall TZ 215. Home office uses DNS and DHCP at the server.  We have a satellite office network which has a sonicwall TZ215 as well. The sonicwall pushes DHCP but we have the Home office DNS as well as in the event they loose DNS.

Issue, the satellite office connects fine, but, they have to have administrator rights to access any folder on the home office network.  I have also noticed that those satellite office computers do not display within our network folder when browsing.

My concern is that the satellite office uses an IP scheme of 192.168.18.x, the home office uses 192.168.16.x.  There is no forward or reverse lookup zone for the 192.168.18.x (satellite office).  Is this my issue?

Thanks for anyone wanting to assist.
