1 File stuck downloading on WSUS Server 2016 Tech preview 5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a single file that is stuck downloading on my WSUS using Server 2016 Tech Preview 5, the download size matches the file size downloaded but it's obviously stuck.  I've run the cleanup wizard, the server itself is up-to-date, sync now runs and finishes at 100% and IIS has the ESD MIME type set too.

The Error I see in Event Viewer is below:

    Content file download failed.
    Reason: CRC verification failure.
    Source File: /c/upgr/2016/05/10586.0.160426-1409.th2_refresh_clienteducation_vol_x64fre_en-gb_c4f7837e4028339a2c8be01dbf03c34a0886359f.esd

    Destination File: G:\WsusContent\9F\C4F7837E4028339A2C8BE01DBF03C34A0886359F.esd

    Any ideas?

  • Hi theroninhunter,

What is the result of re-downloading the update?

Besides, since server 2016 is released, you may use Server 2016.

    Best Regards,

    Anne

Could you provide the update's name that stuck in downloading? Seems like 1511 upgrade or 1607 upgrade, is it?

If yes, then, on WSUS 2012 or WSUS 2012R2, we need to install KB3095113 and KB3159706, while these two KBs are applied to 2012 and 2012R2.

    Best Regards,

    Anne

    Hi,

Its the Upgrade Windows 10 Education 1511, 10586 en-gb volume.

As I have stated I am on Server 2016 TP 5 not Server 2012, I've also tried to re-download the update too.

  • Hi theroninhunter,

It's pity that since win2016 is release, we do not have lab to test server 2016 TP. So it's recommended to use the released server 2016.

    Best Regards,

    Anne
