Azure Adfs RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi ,

We are deploying ADFS in Azure Cloud. We have hosted our application in the cloud to be accessed via ADFS servers. When this application is being accessed by the External user the request will be routed via WAP servers and then onto the ADFS servers.

My question is, what will be the flow when the same application hosted in cloud is accessed by internal users.

  • Most of the federation flow are passive. It means that the user-agent (aka the Internet browser) is driving them. So as long as it can find (through DNS) and access (from a network perspective) the application AND the ADFS server, things just work.

Now let's say you have ADFS server of the same farm on-prem and you wanted the on-prem user to use the on-prem ADFS nodes, then your load balancer/DNS have to be tweaked. That's it. If you want more details, please tell us more about your network/DNS configuration!
