  • The field is a Project level text Field, with formula =[status date].

May be you are using a "date" field to get the data?

  • Hi,

Project status date is a functionality of Project Professional hence you can see project status date only in MPP not in PWA.

As we have some feature which are not supported by PWA.

for better information you can see

    Hope this helps...

  • Hi there,

You cant update the status date in PWA but you could view it in the project center. You will need to create a new project level custom field that uses a formula. The formula would be:

    [Status Date]

Then add the new field to a Project Center view (Server Settings > Manage Views).

    Thanks

  • Thank the replies of Paul and Kirtesh.  Actually, the project level custom field is not my expectation, because it will display the status date to every tasks. I want to see the status date for each project plan in the project information PDP within project center. So I try to add a new enterprise custom field and add [Status Date] in the formula, it doesn't work.

In my opinion, to view a status date of each project plan is much easier than to set or edit, why pwa can't support it ?

  • Till Project Server (2007) Editing, EPT and PDP were not available. In 2010 Microsoft Introduce project Editing and other features for schedule management in PWA .

Hence their are many more feature which are not supported by PWA but available in MPP 2010.

Status Date is MPP field which is not available in the PWA.

    You can check  url http://www.microsoft.com/project/en-us/web-based-project-management-comparison.aspx

for web based schedule management comparison.

    Hope this helps...

  • Tian-Song Tasi,

Why do you think the project level custom field will display for all tasks?

If you want the field to be displayed on the project information PDP, you just add it to that PDP.

As Paul mentioned, you obviously cannot "edit" it in PWA.

  • Hi Prasanna:

In my trial, firstly, the Enterprise custom fields which could be added in the PDP do not support project status date. The only way I can add project status date is to customize the formula by using some Date field in the MPP , and this so call project level custom field can't add to PDP, but it can be added in the custom View of Schedule. In the way, the customized Date field will be displayed for all tasks in the Schedule as project plan opened in the Project Center. That's what I experienced. If you have any advanced way to share, please give more detail introduction.

  • Tian-Song Tsai,

Not sure why you cannot add it to a PDP. See the screenshot below. I created the ECF as you describe (P_Status_Date), then add it to the PDP. And everytime the project is published, the status date is refreshed to show what is on the MPP.

  • Hi Prasanna:

How did you customize the P_Status_date ? I tried to create a similar ECF in Enterprise Data -> Enterprise Custom Fields and lookup tables -> New custom field, in Custom Attributes section I choose Formula and enter [Status_Date] or  [Status Date], the result was that I got an error message meant does not support the formula.

  • Hi Prasanna:

Thank for your reply, I have added the field successfully. I found that both text field and date field are supported. The problem I occurred was that the [status date] can't find from "Pick field" list, so that I think no way to view in PWA . Another minor mistake was that I wrongly typed in the "Enter formula" box the field name as [status date] rather than in Chinese field name I should type.
