Skype for Business Contact picture display intermitent RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    Please advise, we got issue on Skype for Business client when profile picture is display intermittent.

    This is On-Prem Enterprise Skype for Business deployment, running with multiple sip domain and deploy in Resource Forest environment, below are detail configuration & verification:

    1. Client Policy:

    AddressBookAvailability : WebSearchAndFileDownload

    DisplayPhoto                  : AllPhotos

    2. Address Book Configuration

    Identity                   : Global
    RunTimeOfDay               : 1:30 AM
    KeepDuration               : 30

    EnableSearchByDialPad      : True

    3. Test-CSAddressBookService

    Target Fqdn   : (Pool FQDN)
    Target Uri    : https://(Pool FQDN)/abs/handler
    Result        : Success

    4. Skype for Business Shared Folder:

    AB Directory (000000-0000-0000-0000-00000000000) contain photo file *.photo, *.lsabs & *.dabs

    5. Verify AB files downloaded in user client %Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\lync\SIP:user@domain.com contain GalContact.db & GalContact.db.idx

    6.Verify photo files downloaded in user client%Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\lync\SIP:user@domain.com\Photo

    Empty, no file *.cache

    Please try to run the command line Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus check if the CMS has the latest update.

    Make sure both your SFB client and server with the latest update.

    What is the configuration that you have in the Get-CsClientpolicy, all photos are allowed? Intermittent issue which you were saying , is the internal users   able to see the pictures fine, is that with any specific users.

    Would you please tell us more details about that you mentioned “when profile picture is display intermittent”? Profile Picture didn’t show? Or wrong picture appeared?

    And would you please tell us if only some specific users(for example, only you) have the issue ?

    If so , you could try to delete SFB cache files and registry key, then test again.

    User profile:

    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\sip_UserName@Domain.com

    Registry Key:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\UserName@Domain.com

    Please try to run Update-CsAddressBook in order to force the Address Book servers to sync their contents with the User database.

  • Hi,

    This effected to all client. with a random client, picture are now showing today then next few days its not display.

    Client A able to see some picture that not displayed from Client B, then next few days Client B able to see the picture.

    In configuration, Yes All photo allowed, this effected for both internal and external user.

    Relationship status is default Colleagues.

    Setting on effected user already set picture set to 'Show my Picture'

    I already delete the registry, forcing update the AB. Once AB downloaded all effected user able to see all picture but after a few days its trigger the issue again.

    Still got issue till today, I already escalated to partner support.

    I will shared what has been done once it solved.
