  • Hi Arvind.ku2007, for crash issues on application level, the root cause can vary. The error message is very general and collecting and analyzing dump files will be the most efficient method to pinpoint the root cause.

To resolve this issue efficiently, I recommend that you open up a service request by following the wizard at http://support.microsoft.com/select/Default.aspx?target=assistance. Microsoft Customer Support Service is the best resource for this kind of issues.

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

please download this reg file from my SkyDrive:

    http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_Explorer.reg

and make a double click on the file to import it.

When the Windows Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the file to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take at the dump, maybe I can see the cause.

  • You have a Heap Corruption.

Please download the Debugging Tools for Windows [1] and install them.

Now run gflags.exe and go into the "Image File" and type explorer.exe and press the tab button. Now Click "Enable Page Heap" and click on ok.

Now, wait for the next Explorer crash and upload the new dump.
