Short term retention is not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone,

two week back, I had configured backup of two SQL servers on DPM with 7 and 30 days retention until  last week number of restore point was 7 but today only two restore points are available for file backup and three for SQL backup. I have verified the same from Recovery workspace in DPM console. Some issue is there.

50% space is unused in DPM storage pool.

Any idea why is it happened.

Windows server 2016 with latest updates

    DPM version 2016 with UR5 (5.0.361.0)

  • Hi Arun,

Do you see anything out of the ordinary in the logs? What result do you get if you run the
    Get-DPMRecoveryPoint PowerShell cmdlet?

Also check the Recovery Point Status report under Reporting to compare the results.

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • Has this worked before? Also what SQL Server version are you backing up?

Do you see the same issue with other protected items?
