HTTP/1.1 200 OK with fresh install of WSS 3.0 on 2012 SQL express/server 2008 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a small Acer computer that is running a fresh installation of server 2008 R2.  Went and installed 2012 SQL express and WSS 3.0.  Had it running but then my IT guy told me to use a different server name so changed the name of the server.  That is when the trouble occurred.  I have tried uninstalling and re-installing both WSS and SQL and now every time I try and pull the server up in a browser I get the following.

    HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Microsoft-IIS/7.5 Date: Thu, 10 Jan 2013 18:49:39 GMT Connection: close

Not sure what to do here but it sounds like the server is running there is just no content to be displayed, which sounds to me like its an issue with sharepoint.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

Although it is not fully updated on several other content pages, please be aware that  SQL 2012 is not a supported database server for SharePoint 2007. Typically supported is the minimum pre-requisites + 2 versions.

This means for SharePoint 2007, we support SQL Server 2005 SP1 and SQL Server 2008/R2.

Note: I tried with SharePoint 2007 and couldn't even get it to install properly....

Also, be aware that with SharePoint 2007 and WSS 3.0 entering extended support in October 2012, please be reminded about the different support options available to customers when a product enters extended support.

There are 3 main phases of a product support lifecycle:

    • Mainstream Support,
    • Extended Support
    • Self-Help Online Support.
