Windows 7 RAM usage & performance RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello. I noticed one thing that appears to be strange for me. I have 4 Gb RAM on my notebook, if I happen to use 2.8-3 Gb RAM, I notice the significant decrease in overall system performance. Also on my another computer where I have 8 Gb RAM, I notice the same when 5-6 Gb are loaded (so 2-3 Gb are still free!). What is that?

  • There is a low-end processor in the notebook, a slow hard drive and possibly mismatched memory modules. What are you expecting?

There is most likely an application issue. Test with the Clean Boot Process and observe the performance.

    Then eliminate the offender(s).

Did you look at a Free memory number in task manager?
