BSOD BugCheck 124 - Win7 - HTML5 Video RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I get this BSOD only watching youtube on Chrome (HTML5). I can watch youtube on Firefox (flash) for hours with no problems. Also had a couple of gaming sessions lasting as long as 4 hours with no problems whatsoever. Only time I manage to get the BSOD is watching youtube on chrome.

    Here is my spec:

    i5 4690
    Gigabyte ga-h97m-d3h
    Patriot Viper3 Red 16GB (2x8) DDR3 1600
    Zotac GTX 770 2GB
    Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB
    Sharkoon WPM Bronze 600W

I didn't do any overclock, the only thing I've disabled on the BIOS is the integrated GPU.
Two days ago I did a fresh install with the latest drivers from nvidia and intel.
Temperatures: CPU idle around 35C, during gaming 65C. GPU 50~75C.
My motherboard already have the last BIOS version (F4).
I did a few passes on memtest and nothing come out of it.
And I tried prime95, but my CPU temperatures went up to 100C on a blink of an eye and I stopped the test afraid it would damage my CPU. I have stock cooler on it.

    Here is the dump analyzis

Also another note. My PC will show some errors on the first cold boot of the day, on the event viewer.
This errors eventually go away after a reboot. I've tried everything to stop those as well to no avail.

The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

    \Device\Video7
    13b9(1f58) 00000000 00000000

    Thanks for the support.

Answers

  • Hi,

Related to the video, you can check the GPU acceleration:

Type "chrome://flags" in the Chrome search bar:

    Disable the following setting:

    GPU compositing on all pages

It would be some setting conflicts, try to contact Google as well if this issue persists.

  • You must go to Google for support of the Chrome browser.  Google has sole responsibility for support of their products, not Microsoft.  Firefox is not supported here either.  Only Microsoft's Internet Explorer is supported and the Internet Explorer forum is found @ http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/home?category=internetexplorer
