Using Admin Credentials to Authenticate Changes the Environment. Can I Prevent This? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We are having a revamp of our Active Directory and one of the things we decided we would do is to change everyone's accounts from administrators to standard users.

When the user attempts to install some software we then enter domain administrator credentials to enable this to happen, but the problem we are having is that this will change the environment to the administrator who is authorizing the install.

Is there any settings in the group policy I can change so that the administrator credentials are only used to authenticate and the environment returns to the standard users?

This also happens if I attempt to access the advanced system settings to create environment variables but I do not want to allow complete access to the advanced system settings.

    Thanks in advance
