Inbox Rule to Forward to SMTP Address Fails RRS feed

  • We have a mailbox (alerts@domain.com) that receives emails from multiple sources. We would like to leverage the mailbox alerts@domain.com to find certain keywords in the body of the email and forward them to specific SMTP addresses (ex: 10digitnumber@cellprovider.com). We currently have this setup as a rule within the alerts@domain.com mailbox. 

    We have the AutoForwardEnabled flag set to false and with mail flow, the Exchange server will not forward the message.  My question is fairly straightforward. Can you continue to have AutoForwardEnabled set to False and somehow make this work on an individual basis (per mailbox) or do we need to set AutoForwardEnabled to True for the entire organization?

  • AutoForwarding setup are based on configuring/creating remote domains as per your requirement. 

    You can leave the default remote domain settings autoforwardenabled as false and create remote domain for the domains to which you want to have auto forward enabled.
