Windows server 2008 group policy applied to windows 7 and IE10 and above

    Question

  • Hello ,

i am trying to apply a GPO to my clients that forces their homepage once they open their browser to www.***.com .

However , the GPO template in the management console supports only up to IE7 , and my clients have a much upgraded version of IE , along side some others who use google chrome , and others who use firefox .

Is there any workaround to this ? knowing my windows server is 2008 enterprise? ( not R2 , just enterprise edition )

  • Hi,

For google chrome I dont know, but you should be able to use this setting for IE

user configuration-policies-administrative templates-windows componets-internet explore-disable changing home page settings: enable that, and define a webpage

If you dont have the templates, download them here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=37009
