Offline Image Servicing patch list is empty RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Gentlemen;

I've a SCCM 2012 SP1 which is installed on Win2012 and it is using SQL Srv 2012. SUP is working properly; sccm2012sp1 can sync properly and all patches are listed under "All Software Updates".

I want to patch offline images (wim files of win8x64, Win7x64 and Win2012x64) but the update list is empty. The list is not listing any patches.

Should I do anything special before start to patching? Am I missing something?

  • A patch needs to be deployed, in order to patch an image using Offline patching.

Have you deployed any pacthes yet?

  • Hmmm ... Deployed?
They are seem as "deployed" under "Software Update Groups" if you ask that.
If you're asking that "Have I applied these patches to running OSs, no I haven't.
.. I have Win7, Win8, Win2008 and Win2012 images there. Win7, Win8, Win2008 images can be updated as offline, they don't have any problems. Only Win2012 image can not be updated as the list is empty. I am not be able to find the difference between Win2012 image and other images.

    It was...

The list of updates only contains updates that meets the following criteria:

    1. CBS Updates
    2. The updates must be deployed in the ConfigMgr 2012 environment.
    3. The updates have not been applied to the image file.

Not really much to configure... It just works :)

I wrote a blog post a year ago or so. Maybe you can find something you are missing here...

Update: I just noticed that you last post says WS2012 while your first post says Win7, Win8 and WS2012.... Havent tried WS2012..

  • Thanks Ronni, I have already read your blog-post before open this thread/question :)

Yes, I am not be able to patch Windows Server 2012...

This is my second SCCM 2012 installation and my first installation had the same problem too.

There must be something else I missed or a bug...

    I'll keep searching ...
