Almost all programs on the Installed Program List in Control Panel lost after virus RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was trying to download a video of a PBS program this weekend (http://www.tubeplus.me/player/2128521/Doc_Martin/season_6/episode_7/Listen_with_Mother/%22) and was asked to update my JavaScript.  This was not actually a JavaScript update but rather a virus installation.  I think I have cleaned up almost everything, but the virus erased most of the programs in my list of installed programs.  I think that was part of the virus's effort to make it hard to remove.

I have tried the previous methods listed in the questions similar to this, but nothing has worked - and I cannot see a list of the programs anywhere in my registry.

  • If the registry entries have been removed, it may not be possible to restore the entries, unless a backup is available.

  • Hi,

Balaji M Kundalam provide good fix for corrupt registry.

Did you have a restore point before? If you did, why not try making system restore?
