How to open Linked report in new window in PPS dashboard. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I have created a scorecard in PPS 2007. Now I want to create a Linked report which will linked to a KPI . That linked report is common for all KPI. Scorecard is based on SSAS datasource. I have created a MeasureName text property to pass masure name to that linked graph. I am also passing Date parameters using time intelligence formul "Month - 11 : month".
If I link that report to a single dashboard then it works fine. but I want that scorecard will be in one page and if user click on any KPI then reports associated to those KPI will open in seperate window.
Is it possible to implement in PPS 2007 or PPS 2010.

    Kind Regards,
    Pushkar

  • Hello Pushkar,

You can open an report into a new window through the webpart after you have published it.  You can add a HyperLink to a KPI by doing a custom property.  When you put in a standard URL with http:// or https://, this will open into a new window.

    Thanks

  • Hi Heidi,
I am also passing parameters to those linked reports. That is the main problem. How to pass parameters like measure name and date through hyperlink.

  • Is this a specific requirement to show report in new window or just a layout scheme. One thing you could try is set your reports to PDF in dashboard designer and it would open in new window (assuming you are using SSRS reports).

  • This should be possible, it is just going to take some work, not an easy thing to do out-of-the-box and will take some testing and a bit of configuration.  Take a look at a couple of Nick Barclay's postings that are listed in this previous thread Parameter passing from Dashboard to ASPX Page.

Now in order to get that to work in 2010 it will be a little different.  Take a look at this thread posting Hyperlink from KPI in PPS 2010.  If you need to view that 2007 page setup for the hyperlink and redirect then you can view it in the web archive - http://web.archive.org/web/20080305164525/http://blogs.msdn.com/performancepoint/archive/2007/10/05/implementing-a-hyperlink-from-a-kpi-in-a-scorecard.aspx.  In order to get at the downloads from that archive you will need to remove 'http://web.archive.org/web/20080305164525' from each of the URLS.

By using all of these methods, particularly Nick's, you should be able to come up with a solution for your setup.
