Universal Administrative Login? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
I was just curious, but does anyone out there know anything of the "Universal Administrative Password" that allows you to get into any computer you want with ease or of the owner knowing? I was wondering if this is actually true that there is one, and if so...does anyone know what it may be or who it is that is allowed access to it?

    Thanks,

  •  There is only one Administrator account which comes builtin when an Operating system is Installed which has the complete access to all the operating system.

    The Administrator Account

Administrator is a predefined account that provides complete access to files, directories, services, and other facilities. You can't delete or disable this account. In Active Directory, the Administrator account has domain-wide access and privileges. Otherwise, the Administrator account generally has access only to the local system. Although files and directories can be protected from the Administrator account temporarily, the Administrator account can take control of these resources at any time by changing the access permissions.

  • There is no such thing called Universal Administrative Login passwords for operating systems but there are some Universal Login passwords for CMOS to reset the BIOS.

    Thanks

  • Hello Syed Khairuddin,
I am knowledgeable of these CMOS passwords, but i have worked with people who know of the universal administrator password, though "Universal Administrative Password" may not be a set name for it and/or them. I know most people would say that the guy was just lying to me, but i can believe he knew of it and maybe did know what it was for he knew quite a lot about it and had said he knew of people who knew the password(s) itself. I am just so curious about this, for if there really is such a thing.....that gives whoever has access to it an enormous amount of power. It is just something to think about that makes you wonder whether or not it is true, and if so all of the possibilities. It would still be very interesting and also helpful to know this "password". Though, i have my own ways of wiping administrative passwords, but not a way to login without the owner ever knowing. I guess just something to think about....

    Thanks,
