project server 2010 and Office 2013 - is this a total fail RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have installed Office 2013 and was hoping to use Excel, Word and Outlook 2013 and continue to use Project Sever 2010

I want to publish Excel reports to the BI suite via SharePoint - this seems to have gone! vanished

I want to use MS SP Workspace.

Should I just accept this is not going to work and do a system restore back to MS Office 2010

  • To answer my own question: I can run both Office 2010 and 2013

why didn't I just do this: you can't have the 32bit Office 2010 and install the 64bit Office 2013, I was forced to remove 2010: So hopefully I can get a copy of the 64 bit Office 2010 and install it after installing2013. I hope

  • Though Project Server 2010 support excel 2013 and out look 2013 but their are some compatibility issues with Visio 2013.

Hope it will help you to take decision.

  • I believe much of your issues is dealing with IE and not Excel and SharePoint. When working in Excel and SharePoint, try using 64 bit IE.

Working with Office, Project and SharePoint can be tricky with a mix of 32 bit and 64 bit.  I haven't come up with a clean answer, because it changes between the different IE browser versions (IE 8, 9, 10, etc).  You will need to experiment with different browsers to find the right solutions.

    Cheers!
