User Synchronization for Project Web Access App Root Site and Project WSS Workspaces failure RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am using a PS2007 SP2 running against SQL Server 2005. Everytime I try to edit a user that triggers the User Synchronization for Project Web Access App Root Site and Project WSS Workspaces job, I always get a failed but not blocking correlation. Here is the excerpt of the ULS that I got after encountering the error:

A backgrounder of our setup. We have over 2000 users and we set it as a default that all users will have read access to all the published workspaces. So everytime I update/edit a user it will go though over 1K of workspaces. Is this the possible culprit of the issue? Or there is another issue that causing this error?

    Kindly advice.

    TIA.

  • There is a TechNet article that talks about similar issues in 2010. It also mentions an issue when more than 1'000 users are being synced over to the project site...

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh670402.aspx

Have you tried limiting the number of users that should get permissions to the project site, even just for testing purposes? If it works for 500 users, try again for maybe 700 until you hit the issue. This would then proof - at least to me - that the issue is related to the number of users...

    Hope this helps...
