Tape Logic Slower? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a DPM2012 install natively on Dell PE2950 hardware.  Dual Xeon, 16 GB RAM. RAID1 OS/DB and RAID5  (PERC5i)datastore for the D2D.  Using a Quantum LTO5 drive on a SAS6 controller I get roughly 100GB/hr speeds.  Thats less than the scis LTO3 that it replaced.  I don't know that the hardware is fast enough to push the full ~400 GB an hour the LTO5 is rated fore.  However, when I have BE2010R3 on there I got more than 100GB hour (I seem to recall 200-300 hour).  Does the DPM datastore arrange the data in a slow format?
