The problem is fixed but earlier error messages still displaying in Timesheet Approvals page? How to clear them? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We had problems when people accessed their timesheets or Timesheet Approval page, usually the message "while communicating with the Project server an error occured. check connectivity" After applying one hotfix the problem was solved but the Timesheet approvals page still shows all those error messages in red. How can I clear that? MSP 2007 sp2

  • Hi there,

I have seen this issue many times whenever there is a heavy load on the system. I used to notice the issue when on Monday morning all Time sheet approves used to approve the time sheets, If you look at the queue at the same time, you might see many jobs might be processing.

Once all the jobs are completed, Time sheet approval page will be working as expected. sometimes, IISreset/queue service restart was also helpful. NExt time, when you see the issue check the load on the queue.

  • The fix for this issue is to re-save the timesheet, until the timesheet is saved properly the data will not be avilable in any analysis cubes.

On the Approved by me page get each resource manager to identify the problem timesheets, click on the timesheet name and save the timesheet. This will resolve the problem. Cause - not sure - possibly a network or server glitch.
