Insert URL of an instance of an object (popup) into an email RRS feed

  • Question

  • Picture the view of a user in MIM Portal. Now you want to insert a URL into the email that when receiver clicks on it, it opens the User in view mode.  I don't wan to go to all users, but the specific User.

This is what I don't want

This is what I want. When users clicks, he goes to this view

By the way, I have tried copying the link on the right upper corner, to no avail. I did not try it on an email, but tried to run it on a browser with no success.

    Thanks,

    Nosh

  • Hi Nosh,

don't know which version you are trying with.

But in my demolab with MIM 2016 SP1 it works with the copied link in top of the user popup.

These are the URLs I tested from within a mail:

    different user:

    Edit:
    http://mim/IdentityManagement/aspx/users/AllPersons.aspx?popupFromClipboard=http%3A%2F%2Fmim%2Fidentitymanagement%2Faspx%2FUsers%2FEditPerson.aspx%3Fid%3D583272f1-2f11-49f5-a991-900ad761b128

    View:
    http://mim/IdentityManagement/aspx/users/AllPersons.aspx?popupFromClipboard=http%3A%2F%2Fmim%2Fidentitymanagement%2Faspx%2Fcustomized%2FPopupCustomizedObject.aspx%3Ftype%3DPerson%26id%3D583272f1-2f11-49f5-a991-900ad761b128

    Users own profile edit:
    http://mim/IdentityManagement/default.aspx?popupFromClipboard=http%3A%2F%2Fmim%2FIdentityManagement%2Faspx%2Fusers%2FEditPerson.aspx

Seems the URLs have changed, since I cannot remember these popupFromClipboard parameter in versions before but have currently no system without SP1

  • Thanks Peter,

Yes it is SP1.  Actually, I just tried and it works on a user.  I was not trying this on User object, but another custom object. I used the user example to make it easier, thinking it was a global issue, but seems to be local.

    Thanks anyways.
