In answer to your direct question: An outline level is normally part of a paragraph style in Word. It can be body text, or a heading level.
The articles listed are about different Windows versions of Word but AFAIK, they apply to Mac versions as well.

I am very appreciative of your help. I bought several books on the subject - but they do NOT appear to be very well organized poor or insufficient indexes, etc Word for Mac 2011 for Dummies has a lot of useful informations - but it seems it was thrown together from earlier editions of Mac help books.Tuesday, July 1, 2014 4:14 PM
