How to disconnect connection in Power Query ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a limit of 5 concurrent connection.

    And Power Query every time seems to add connection but not disconnect. This is causing problems in terms of errors from server.

    Is there anyway I can disconnect connection once data is fetched.

    Thanks

  • We've identified one scenario under which a connection won't be closed in a timely fashion and have filed a bug accordingly. That said, even when this is fixed, there are scenarios where a five-connection limit might cause problems; we specifically don't promise to try to minimize the simultaneous number of open connections.

  • Hi Praneeth, Could you share which Data Source type you are using? Can you also share the Power Query expression (M)? Thank you, Gil

  • Hi Gil,

    Data Source is Teradata

    Below is Power Query expression (M). Masked the server/database details.

    let
        Source = Teradata.Database("server", [Query="SELECT * FROM DB.Table])
    in
        Source

    Thanks
