SBS 2011: Exchange service doesn't start on startup

  • Hi --

This has happened on an SBS 2011 Standard server several times already:

When the server is restarted, the Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service does not start. As a result, nobody on the LAN can access their email using Outlook.

The service is enabled and set to Automatic.

When I start it manually, it starts without complaint, and everyone is happy that Outlook is working again.

I have not found any errors in the event log that show that this service had a problem starting or was stopped during the server boot process.

Based on past experience, this will not be a problem again until the server is rebooted.

This server has only been in production for a month. And so far, I've had to manually start this RPC service four times. So I'm not sure if this ever worked properly after the initial installation.

    How do I fix this?
