Excel 2013 crashes when printing RRS feed

  • Question

  • We just went from office 2010 to 2013 and i have one spreadsheet with no macros but uses cell references to lists on other hidden worksheets.  If you print to a Ricoh or HP printer it crashes.  if you print to a Dell printer it works just fine.  Any idea where to start?  thanks.

  • Hi,

Based on the issue description, the problem occurs when using a Ricoh or HP printer, doesn't occur when using a Dell printer, I'm wondering whether the printer driver caused the crash issue, update your Ricoh  HP printer driver, then test if Excel will still crash when printing.

The crash can be caused by various factors, such as anti-virus programs, other programs that conflicts with Excel. If the problem persists after updating the printer driver, I suggest you perform a selective startup to determine whether a program, process, or service conflicts with Excel, please refer to Method 8 in this kb below:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2758592/en-us

Other methods in this kb are also suggested to troubleshoot the problem.

    Thanks,

    Melon Chen

  • Also what i have found out is if i download the latest PCL drivers it doesn't work.  if i download the latest PS drivers it does work.  the issue here is that only 2 of the 7 walkup ricoh copiers we use have the PS option installed.  Any other ideas?  Thanks.

  • I would say it's something like the HP printer compatibility with Excel, check the settings in the printer as well?

Consider the suggestions in this blog:
