Ensure user can only see his or her tasks in task list RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a tasks list. I want to be able to ensure that every user can only see his or her tasks from the task list from the main intranet site. Although MySites could help with this, My Sites is currently not available.

    How could I achieve this?

    Thanks

Answers

  • You will have to use "All Tasks" view for that user so he/she can view all. Again create one more page and set this view on that page.

Group filter is not available so you need to set target audience on this listview webpart (when you edit this webpart then you will see target audience at the bottom), where you can assign permission to group to view this webpart.

    Hope it could help

All replies

  • Hello,

Go to your task list and remove all default view except "My tasks" and make it default. This view has default filter [Me] on assign to field so user can see only own task.

Or you can also create one site page and add this task list on that as webpart and apply "My Tasks" view. Later you can hide this tasks list from quick launch.

    Hope it could help

  • Great idea.

But in addition, I will need one user/group to be able to see all items. What would be the best way for this? It could be a seperate list view or page.

Possibly could create a page and just assign that user access to the page?
