Project Server 2013 - Transparent background of lookup table, what's the solution? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

In case of Project server 2013, for a custom field with lookup table, background for lookup table is transparent because of which lookup table values are not readable. This issue exists only in PWA. I read somewhere that this issue has been fixed in April 2013 CU but it doesn't look like that. A solution is given on this link :

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/e555a7be-1d39-491a-a392-76df42f81b88/custom-fields-are-transparent-project-server-2013?forum=projserv2010setup

But I checked few other PWAs and background for lookup table is white. Can anyone tell me which Cumulative update fixed this issue?

    Thanks

    Mayur

  • Hello,

I could repro this on one of my test environments with IE 11 (tested in emulation for 8, 9 and 10) and also repro in Chrome (v. 43.0.2357.132).  To fix it I just changed the color palette to a different out of the box color theme (use the "Change the look" functionality on the Settings Cog), saved the changes then put it back to the original color palette I had set and it was resolved. Looking the CSS, when I experienced the issue, the .outer-container property was set to transparent, after updating the color palette then setting it back the this property was set to rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.90).

Try updating the color palette for the PWA site collection then set it back if you can - worked for me.

  • From memory that was fixed in the April2013 CU (long time ago now). Do you have SP1 installed yet? If not I'd recommend installing at least SP1.

  • Thanks for the reply, Paul.

We have SP1 package and even Apr 2013 CU is also there. But that may not be the issue.

I recently found that above problem is limited to IE8 browser and there is no problem with dropdown background color in chrome browser (Version 66.30.49223). I cannot check it for IE9 as it's not available and I cannot upgrade IE8 to IE9.

While searching, I found that Project server 2013 PWA is compatible with IE8 as well, see the link below:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/library/ee683978.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

For the time being I can work with Chrome but I'm wondering why it is not working for IE8.

    What could be the reason?
