Project Online and Office 365 Family? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Some users are using "Office 365 Family" on their PC. When they try to install "Project Online Trial" they get an error message saying "You must uninstall this version of Office".

    What is the issue ?

If not solved, they will buy a competing product.

  • Your Office 365 admin can do this.

if you are a Office 365 user you can go to portal.office.com and put your organisational email address. this will take you to your personal Office 365 page/settings. under left side menu there is a "Subscription" section.

Check out what type of Office 365 license do you already have. Should be Something like E1 or E3 or Buniness Essential etc.

Once your Office 365 Admin add Project Online subscription (either trial or paid) you will see another license under that page which shows you have another license.

fist of all clarify what license do you have and if you are Office 365 admin or anyone else?

  • Hi,

I think you need to enable the trial subscription for "Project Online" through your Office365 administration panel.

It means your O365 admin should add some Project Online license in a trial base (what ever number you need) and assigned them to particular users.

Those users can install Project Pro for Office 365 (Desktop App) by using the link appeared on their Office365 settings page.

    Hope this helps.

    Naser

  • Thanks Naser,

I'm not an expert: Could you explain how to add some "Project Online license in a trial base "?
