Migrating from 2 volumes to 1 with the migratedatasourcedatafromdpm.ps1 powershell script RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

At this moment we had 2 iSCSI volumes attached to our DPM server. But for better performance we had installed 4x1TB in a RAId-5 setup in the DPM server. I've created one big volume for this and added it to the DPM storage pool.

Then after some research i used the migratedatasourcedatafromdpm.ps1 -dpmservername DPMserver -source $disk[0] $disk[1] -destination $disk[2]

This all went well, except he migrated only disk 0. disk 1 is still active. Disk0 is gone and all the volumes are moved to Disk2. How can I move al the volumes on Disk1 to Disk2? If I run the migratedatasourcedatafromdpm.ps1 again with source disk1 and destination disk2 I will get a bunch of errors.

  • I solved it bymyself. there was still a sync in progress what disturbs the powershell script. When this sync was finished I was able again to run the command :

    migratedatasourcedatafromdpm.ps1 -dpmservername DPMserver -source $disk[1] -destination $disk[2]

now are both disks migrated to the new disk.

I have another question. The datasources are now moved to the new disk. I want also to re-arange the protection groups. Is this possible? Or must I wait till all old data sources on the old disks are expired?
