In Performance POoint 2010 Under what conditions is the Decomp Tree available? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The decomp tree appears to be available to me only when the MDX query for the base analytic report contains no parameters.  Is this true?  What conditions are necessary to make the decomp tree available?

  • Hello Stan H,

The Decomp Tree in 2010 is considered an "Action" item off of a default report. When you create a report with modified/custom MDX then all "Action" items are disabled. Using parameters in the MDX causes the "Action" items to be disabled.

The behavior was the same in PPS 2007 where you loose all drilling functionality if you create a report using modified/custom MDX.

Is there are reason you have to use parameters in your report?
