  • Description: Genuine Windows7 Home Premium, AMD Phenom II X4 945  3000Mhz, BIOS Version/Date- American Megatrends Inc. 5.04, 10/1/2009, SMBIOS Version 2.6  Hardware abstraction version= "6.1.7600.16385", 8GB DDR3 System Memory, ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphics card, NOTE: CPU-Z ID : 1654198 FOXCONN MB model ALOE, VERSION 6.1.7600 Build 7600, System Model- NY554AA-ABA e9240f,  Okay here is the porblem, recently I have noticed a major drop in performance. Kasperski security up to date, no regrestry errors, no spyware detected. According to speed fan my CPU runs HOT & IS AT MAX most of the time & it only shows 1 core when this is supposed to be a Quad Core. I then downloaded CPU-Z to see what I have in reguard to my OS. It doesn't recogonize but only 1 core as well. Also in the task manager there is only one core showing NOT 2 or 4 like a quad, like most of the threads I have read thus far. So, What can I do to utilize the cores (Quad) that I have & what am I missing as far as the performance in this desktop and also the CPU useage spikes to 100% which prevents me from playing online games due to the horrible lag. Your assistance is needed! Thank You, GUNNY1966

  • run msconfig.exe and look if you limit the CPUs to 1. if the option is checked, uncheck it.
