Suggested reports.... RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a FFCS three-server topology.  I've assigned roles to users to run the http://reportserver/reports and I'm in the middle of setting up automatic email of reports.

Each user has there own site that they will need reports for.  each site has about 100 workstations/servers.  the users are going to use the reports to go and take care of the workstations they are responsible for.  they do not have access to the management ffcs console.

Which reports should i have them run and what reports should be emailed to them?  Based on importance.....and why would you suggest that?

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the post.

You could set the appropriate permissions on the SQL reports (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb418824.aspx for reference), you will be able then to provide users with access to the reports. Please also provide them access to the MOM Operator console so that they can manage alerts in the console.

Basically you need to couple the Alerts Manager role with the Reports Viewer role (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb418964.aspx for reference).

However, they will miss the possibility to remotely run Scans from the console.

    Hope this helps.
